Here’s a link that prompted more thought about augmented reality and digital displays without a monitor: http://hplusmagazine.com/articles/toys-tools/micro-machines-and-opto-electronics-contact-lense
Another message sent to the stars with the hope of reaching an extra-terrestrial intelligence. I’m optimistic about contact being made with a kind and gentle species (because, after all, we’re such a kind and gentle species). However, as nature tends to be pretty brutal, I can’t help but worry that maybe we’re just sending out a dinner invitation.
I guess this makes a hat trick for the HPlus website for the week (to be honest, I don’t believe I’d ever even been to this site prior to this week). Anyway, the whole doomsday thing had me thinking about profiteering. “Give us your life savings and we’ll stop the doomsday – if doomsday doesn’t come, then it was money well spent, if it does roll on through, then you won’t need the money anyway…” Not quite the meaning behind the article, but that was my playful take on the notion of exploitation in the face of “certain” doom.

This was the article that got me thinking about cryogenics and the importance of having a good and trustworthy financial planner – http://www.hplusmagazine.com/articles/forever-young/wake-cryonics
I grab ideas from all over the Net along with my daily life.
I figured it was about time to start linking some of the references that inspire the strips – e.g. today’s strip was inspired by this post that got my brain wrapped up in synthetic meat: http://www.hplusmagazine.com/articles/bio/eight-ways-vitro-meat-will-change-our-lives
Usually there’s an event or article that serves as the catalyst for each strip. We’ll see if I can’t manage to keep pointing them out with each new post.
