Having worked most of my career in the video games industry, my first reaction is to dispute claims like this article. However, let’s be realistic. not all media is suitable for all people and this is especially true when it comes to kids. If you feed your kid nothing but lots of junk food, she’s probably going to get fat. If you groom your kid on only violent, repetitive content, then that will probably reveal itself in another facet of his life. I’m not saying that there’s no place for a good shoot-em-up and eviscerate-em kind of game, but it’s a parent’s responsibility to decide if their kid can really handle it or not. And, if in doubt, err on the side of caution. I prefer Mario and Zelda for my kids, and if they don’t want to play those games, fine, they can go outside and play (where they pick up sticks and pretend they’re guns
