The notion that you might be held accountable for content that you link to really seems to work against the idea of the Internet. This is compounded by the idea that you might link to something reasonable, only to have the content of that link change after said linkage. Would you then still be held responsible for that linked content? Then, of course, there’s the question of how many degrees of separation need be counted before you could claim innocence to that content.

Let’s flip it around and assume you did post something objectionable. Would you then be held accountable for every instance where someone linked to that content? Would that include all the search engines and other compilation sites if they picked up your post? Ridiculous or dangerous game, this.
