Just seemed like a logical extension of the product and an entrepreneurial opportunity.
I’ve come to the realization that if you want to do something bad, and not get in trouble, you just have to screw up on such an epic scale that nobody even knows where to begin when it comes to serving up punishment. While the ecological devestation with the BP oil spill is more than a little disheartening (to grossly understate it), what almost pisses me off more is the realization that nobody is really going to get in trouble for it (other than the “little guy” like the workers cleaning it up getting sick, the fishermen out of business, etc.). Remember the great Exxon spill and their cleanup effort. When they decided they were done, they just packed up and called it a day. It wasn’t cleaned up. They weren’t “done.” But that was the end of it for them.
I will be stunned if we see any meaningful accountability on this catastrophe.
I have a couple printers that cost less than the cost of replacing the ink cartridges. This seems to be some sort of business strategy.
Remember that you saw it here first. This application will become part of our lives as soon as it becomes available. I can’t tell you how many times I’m out talking to someone I should know and have met several times, but can’t remember their name for the life of me. Mix in a rating system, shared connections, important dates, and interaction record, and you’d have an incredible (maybe even essential) tool. You could add in a GPS tracking system to help stalk those contacts, but that might get a little creepy. Oh, wait, there’s already an app for that.
A little social commentary along with some bitter reality. One of the problems with mining current and popular news for topics is that I find a lot of it kills my sense of humor.
Military use of robots is potentially all well and good, provided those robots never become self-aware and realize what’s at stake.
On a side note, I seem to be having all kinds of problems with the site loading/access/viewing. I’m still not sure what the issue is. I’ve turned off all of the plugins, just in case. I haven’t done any significant architecture changes, so it’s rather weird that it started happening “all of a sudden.” I may end up doing a rebuild of the site over the weekend if I can’t determine the problem.
It seems there has been some oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico – wasn’t sure if you’d heard anything about that. Just trying to look for an upside in today’s strip. However, in no way do I endorse burning oil-covered fish for heat. Oil-covered dolphins are much more effective.
With the support of the Texas School Board, we’ll be making some adjustments to the history textbooks to get this country back on the right track.
It’s passages like, “There is also a suggestion that the anti-communist witch-hunt by Senator Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s may have been justified,” that scare the crap out of me.
Of course this is in response to the vampire romance tales we’re all being subjected to. Some say that mummies will be the next target of forbidden teenage love, but I’m putting my money on creatures from the deep.
